Practical Ways to Use XML with Access 2003

Tim Getsch

NOTE: This presentation will be a little different this month. Like our May meeting, Tim will be giving his presentation via Live Meeting from Microsoft in Redmond, Washington.

Explore several ways in which XML will unlock new scenarios. Learn how to generate HTML reports via XML and how to generate Word and Excel files via XML and XSL transforms. Also see how XML data can be imported into Access.

As a program manager on the Access team, Tim Getsch is responsible for features going into the next release of Access. Tim has been at Microsoft for five years and has worked on Access 2003 and Excel 2002. Prior to Microsoft, Tim developed database applications in VB, PowerBuilder, and Clarify. Tim holds a bachelor's of science degree in mathematics and a master's degree in computer science both from the Institute of Technology at the University of Minnesota.
